My name is Sarah Sheridan, I am a Chicago-based artist and a recent graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art.

MAHJ DAY was born from a simple but powerful experience: learning to play American Mahjong during a personally challenging season of life. The game quickly became more than a pastime. It brought me peace, mindfulness, connection with others, and above all: joy.

I soon combined my passion for art and design with the timeless beauty of the game, and created MAHJ DAY: a company dedicated to producing Mahjong tiles inspired by the things that make life vibrant—art, places, color, celebration, and togetherness.

Each set is designed to help you create your own perfect Mahjong day (or night)— whether it’s tied to a specific place, celebration, or just adding color to your day – I hope these tiles spark joy in you and the people you share the game with.
